WIP Friday
Like many people, I've got a lot of projects in the works. Some of these are more theoretical--still in the planning stage--others I've actually started working on. And then there are the projects I've started and abandoned. Some I'll pick up when my interest has returned. Some will never see the light of day again--they'll eventually be recycled into new projects but until then languish at the bottom of my craft closet. But today's post is not about those projects. Today I'm talkin' about real, fun stuff. I thought I'd show a picture of these books first, though, because many of my projects are straight from their pages or have been inspired by them.
Fabric mostly cut and ready to piece together for the apron from INSTITCHES. I'd intended to have this together in time for the Tie One On Jan/Feb theme (hence the pink), but I putzed and puttered and then those puppets took up a lot of my time. So here I am in March, determined to finish. Today, actually. I need to type fast!Speaking of Valentine's Day, I had a great
plan to make Travel Tissue Holders for all those people I know and love. Yeah. I fell a little behind on that plan. So I've got a pile of rectangles in various stages of completion. Those I'm pretty sure I can finish today. I also want make the Shimmy, Shake and
Bake Apron from Denyse Schmidt Quilts. I've decided to go with a different color scheme and use this great fabric I found at Joann's. I'm using that same fabric in a quilt, too. The plan for the quilt is SIMPLE. I'm thinking subway tiles. What else? Oh yeah, a Built by Wendy skirt and a simple, smock-like top (#4177 by Simplicity). Just a few things on my plate! I think I'd better get to work!
